Location: Corner Manning & Boundary Streets, West End

The site for Silhouette Apartments is an awkwardly shaped parcel of land that straddles Boundary and Manning Street frontages on the upward side of the northern Boundary Street hill at South Brisbane. The elevated parts of the building have views to Mt Coot-tha and are shaded by sliding screens developed for the project. Manning Street is a shorter frontage facing north with views to the city.

The primary criteria for the layout of the buildings on the site were firstly, the continuation of the significant boulevard to Boundary Street and, secondly, the northern city vista from the Manning Street frontage. These elements have generated a site layout that consists of three separate buildings with a central open courtyard space.
