hamilton northshore (unbuilt)
Location: Hamilton, Brisbane
Client: Stockland
The development of the eastern land parcels at Hamilton Northshore represents a major milestone in Brisbane’s transformation into a significant subtropical city that values its river as a liveable place and an integral part of its character.
With the Brisbane River flanking the site on one side, and the natural fauna and flora of the mangroves and Royal Queensland Golf course on the other, lots 1 and 3 of Hamilton Northshore provides a unique opportunity to connect with the natural surrounds.
The connections are provided through a carefully articulated hierarchy of internal spaces that link with a diverse sequence of built forms to facilitate the best response for each precinct. From the signature building in the foreground, to the gateway in the distance, the development creates a permeable landscape connected through a series of pedestrian spaces. The river side boardwalk acts as a link between the zones with sinuous pedestrian pathways connecting the river edge to the development. The streets continue this principle, enlivening and softening the journey throughout the site.
