The broad response to deriving a form and expression for the buildings is to create living spaces that connect with their aspect and views and to the local context of the gasworks precinct. This is underpinned by the provision of an efficient structural approach that allows the expression of simple and robust forms and materials.

The arrangement of buildings on the site is influenced firstly by the provision of an apartment tower that is biased towards the desirable Parkside Boulevard alignment, and secondly by a public realm that responds strongly to the sense of place created by the gasholder. The response is best described by the elemental approach to the various levels and components of the buildings.
