The project involved converting an existing warehouse in Fortitude Valley into office space for a landscape construction company. Previously used as a printing workshop, the client required space to accommodate 16 staff, as well as provide suitable touchdown and meeting space for staff based off site.

The client’s tight budget and desire to create an interesting and enlivened work environment created a challenge due to the condition and plan of the existing building.

Features such as ink stained walls are pre-cast concrete portal frames were retained, and the building’s envelope was altered as little as possible.  Central “green” spine was created to link all functional areas within the space, which doubles as a putting green. The internal finishes palette of light, fresh, reflective, surfaces as well as “grass” laminate, help reinforce the basis of the business. The large glass sliding door separating the boardroom from the street provides and interesting interface between office and street life.
