The brief was to design a restaurant as part of the broader brief to design a community centre and recreational precinct to support a new purpose-built beachside luxury development. The project philosophy was to use muted colours, natural materials and a low horizon to evoke the memory of part beach holidays. The horizon was created by framing and enhancing the view from the Sandbar & Grill to surrounding buildings and activities. This created a fluid transition between the interior and exterior and enhanced the sense of community.
